【Course Purpose and Description】

This course is designed to encourage students who are involved in PPPs (policy development, project implementation and etc.) to continue their study. Students may obtain credits through their involvement in actual PPP projects. The instructor also provides up-to-date information on Japanese and other PPP policies/trends. Reports and meetings can be executed through e-mails, video conferences, and other means.

【Learning Objectives】

Students are expected to understand Japanese PPP system and practices and become capable ofappling their knowledge to overseas projects, or providing their experiences and learning to Japanese practices.

Guidance, periodical reports, and final report can be executed through the vide periodical reports, and final report can be executed through the video conference system. and final report can be executed through the video conference system or other means. Time difference is taken into consideration for the video conference. During the "Business Practice" period, students are expected to concentrate on their business. When there are technical difficulties for video conferencing, e-mails, skype, or other means will be considered.

*Because of COVID restriction and delay of schedule, first two classes were substituted by materials on demand. The rest will be conducted online without further notice.

【Instructional Methods】

Please consult with the instructor. Each student's consideration can be taken into consideration. Students who are involved in an "overseas PPP project" while stationing in Japan can also admitted to take this course.

【Self-study before/after classes】

Students are expected to learn from materials provided by the instructor depending on the project conditions where students are involved.

【Methods of Evaluation and Grading Criteria】

Evaluations are through the report(s). Reports should include items listed below but not limited to:
- Project description
- Their learning and experiences, challenges
- Difference and implecations to Japanese PPP
Grading: Pass/Fail

【Pre-requisites】

1. Students should be engaging a PPP project (including policy development, design, finance, construction, operation, management and etc.) as a staff of organizations depicted in the course catalogue or contractors (consultant, suppliers, general or sub contractors, and NGO/NPO)
2. Students must complete one of prerequisites (“PPP Theory I” or “Global PPP VII: PPP Theory”), or holds a consent from an instractor to enroll.
3. Students must report their PPP activities periodically. Students can live outside of Japan to enroll this course.
