【Sub-title】

【Course Purpose and Description】

This course is designed for students with intermediate level background in Japanese (TJ3-TJ4). The goal for this semester is for students to improve their Japanese listening skills up to intermediate level. In each class, while keeping necessary strategies in mind, students will gradually nurture their listening ability which is necessary for their college life, through the process of getting used to listening materials on various topics.

【Learning Objectives】

1) Respond to various situations where they need to understand information related to academic topic.
2) Catch the main idea of the content and respond appropriately.
3) Look up the meanings of the words by themselves when listening to unknown words.

<Form of Teaching>
The class will be taught through a combination face to face class and distance learning (simultaneous interactive class).
The class materials are distributed and lectures are given using ToyoNet-Ace, WebexMeetings, YouTube, and Google, as well as PDF files, Word files, and PowerPoint files.
Questions and answers will be provided via ToyoNet-Ace, but please use your real name. In addition, when using Webex Meetings, we provide opportunities to exchange opinions in real time.

【Self-study before/after classes】

Before class, students are expected to:
1) Check the vocabulary reference and look up the meaning of new words.
