【Sub-title】

Support to compile master's thesis as a broad-based policy study for the region (beginners welcome)

【Course Purpose and Description】

 The final goal of this exercise is to write a master's thesis on the various policy issues facing a particular region or many regions (regional revitalization, etc.), utilizing regional analysis, etc.
 Therefore, students report and discuss their own research topics, and introduce references related to the topics in order to deepen their research and consider specific policies efficiently and effectively. It also supports analysis that advances the lecture "Regional Analysis."
 By repeating this process, you take the time to painstakingly work your way from preparing to writing your master's thesis. In addition, if we want to change the theme in the middle of the course, we will do so while respecting the students' wishes. In addition, as writing progresses, we provide detailed thesis instruction for completion and submission, including individual correspondence.
 For adult students who are anxious about writing a long thesis during their long term study, we provide instruction in a wide range of fields of study, including the basics such as how to set a theme, research references, create a composition, and establish a schedule, based on the experience of the instructor (Sent to a graduate school as a municipal employee and prepared a master's thesis) and the situation of past graduates.

*Students are expected to introduce literature and research topics about twice per student. Take time to prepare and rehearse for students who are waiting for interim and final debriefings and papers. Details will be determined based on the number of participants and discussions with the participants. It may also be changed in the middle depending on the progress.

【Instructional Methods】

1. Based on the students' independence and awareness of specific issues, the faculty presents awareness tips and diverse perspectives with other students to guide them to acquire a broad view of research topics and appropriate directions for research.
2. Gradually brush up through discussion and guidance to get closer to completing your master's thesis

【Self-study before/after classes】

1. Setting the theme for your master's thesis (in advance)
2. Reading and summarizing literature (in advance)
3. Working with Regional Analysis (Prior)
4. Corrective action for reporting (after the fact)
5. Writing and proofreading master's thesis (before and after)

 Ask them to do the above study in accordance with the theme of the seminar each time. Post-mortem learning also serves as advance preparation for the next round, and we assume an average of about 180 minutes each time.

【Methods of Evaluation and Grading Criteria】

The results will be evaluated in accordance with the Toyo University Performance Evaluation Standards and the details are as follows:
 In order to increase the contribution to the master's thesis, the criteria for evaluation are the degree of relevance to the problem, the uniqueness and logic of the content of the report, the willingness to discuss, etc.
 1. Reports on literature and research topics (with particular emphasis on the degree of development after revision) 70%
 2. Statements and attitudes in the discussion 30%
